Description
By now you know how much I love to travel and, above all, to observe. Business visits always prove to be extraordinary opportunities to learn and have fantastic experiences, and my walk today took me within the walls of Murlo, a small, intact medieval village in the heart of a wild and unspoiled territory, fascinating because it's far from mass tourism and evokes life in times gone by. What's surprising, however, is the entire surrounding area, especially its inhabitants, whose profiles bear an uncanny resemblance to Etruscan paintings. It's not just my idea; I discovered that it was recently proven that the local population contains Etruscan DNA, because it was once a fiefdom of the Bishops of Siena and remained isolated for centuries. All of this holds enormous fascination for me, but the most incredible experience came during the tour of the property. It was a fantastic feeling, as if my brain were a separate organ, rapidly sketching out projects, then crumpling them up and launching them into another fantastic idea. I could almost see all those paper balls thrown haphazardly across the terracotta floor. And my heart waltzed along with the euphoria the adrenaline was unleashing. As I entered the foyer of the first building, I immediately realized that the term B&B was reductive, as the structure lends itself to a variety of solutions. Touring the first two floors, already equipped to accommodate guests in its seven rooms with ensuite bathrooms, inspired in me a desire to maintain all the beauty that was already there and perhaps enhance it with a few modern pieces of furniture here and there, highlighting the enchanting antique terracotta and cementine floors, but toning down the colors and favoring white. Once downstairs, the vaults made me fall in love. Here, you can truly decide to add something to the upper floors and therefore dedicate yourself to breakfasts, lunches, and events, but I think that's reductive; it's primarily a place for sharing. The alcoves invite tastings, ideally of excellent Tuscan wines and olive oil, but you could also focus on products made with your own brand, perhaps creating a small production. Given the splendid and enormous, fully equipped kitchen, you could consider an exclusive pastry shop to delight your guests' palates. I wouldn't rule out catering in the wonderful vaulted rooms, featuring typical Tuscan cuisine, and organizing events, aperitifs, and themed dinners both indoors and outdoors, in the splendid garden, and by the pool. Did I mention that strolling through these walls has inspired so many ideas and images of what could be done? Now, stroll along, breathe in this pure air, lose yourself in the idyllic landscape, and imagine that you can have not just a business, but a new life for yourself and your family. But when you need privacy and tranquility, you can always retreat to the annex where a beautiful three-bedroom apartment awaits. You'll be able to enjoy your own space and have everything under control? Are you still thinking about it?
