Built in 1841 to a design by Ernesto Melano, Chief Architect to King Charles Albert, this residence is an example of neoclassical architecture. It is a substantial three-story building. A Luserna stone staircase with fully decorated walls and ceilings frames the entrance to the main floor, which leads to two ballrooms; The Savoy Hall features rich 19th-century pictorial decoration with medallions depicting the Alpine Castles of the House of Savoy, while the Royal Hall features classic 18th-century French decoration, a library, and several bedrooms, as well as a large British Bar with access to the large terrace overlooking the park and the churches of Poirino. On the second floor, a separate four-bedroom apartment has been created. Large windows make the rooms bright and poetic, offering breathtaking views of the Alps and Monviso. This residence represents an important example of 19th-century architecture.
