The History of the Borgo The history of the Borgo dates back to the Roman era, when a strategic fortress stood there. In 1254, the Castle passed to the Dal Borro family. After a period of decline, in 1823 it was acquired by Count Della Torre Valsassina, who improved the land and the conditions of the peasants. In 1903, the Borro was purchased by Prince Emanuele Filiberto, and after various historical and social events, in 1990 it became the property of the Ferruccio Ferragamo family, which restored the Borgo while respecting its traditions. A highlight of the agricultural estate is undoubtedly the 85 hectares of vineyards and 33 hectares of olive groves, ensuring the production of high-quality wine and olive oil. The estate also includes 272 hectares dedicated to forage and crops, 3 hectares for organic horticulture, and the remaining land used for forestry. The company produces wines, vegetables, and food products following the rhythms of nature and respecting its needs.
