Description
These are hunting estates located in Ciudad Real and Badajoz, respectively. They cover an area of: 3,187 hectares (El Zumajo) 1,240 hectares (La Rana del Quejigal) 4,427 hectares in total. Their main activity is big game hunting. There are three hunting reserves entirely fenced with game netting. Other activities include cork production, agricultural use, and several olive groves. Both estates are included in the Wildlife Estates label for meeting the requirements of sustainability, biodiversity, and environmental stewardship. Regarding water, there are numerous springs, two dams, and several ponds. Electricity is supplied via a 21,000-volt line and reaches a 160 kW transformer, from where it is supplied at 380 v and 220 v. There are several buildings on the estates, including two main houses, guard houses, and several warehouses. HYDROGRAPHY EL ZUMAJO has a large number of springs, which ensure that the streams have permanent flows throughout the year. There is a concrete dam with a capacity of approximately 50,000 m3. There are 36 ponds. The house, gardens, and pool are supplied by a 90-meter borehole that provides 9,000 l/h. The deer production center is supplied directly by natural surface springs and by another borehole with solar panels. LA RANA DEL QUEJIGAL This estate has an earthen dam with a capacity of approximately 100,000 m3 of water. This dam has a pump installed that irrigates 110 hectares of olive groves, with approximately 18,000 trees. In the reserves, there are ponds with their own springs that easily provide the necessary water. The main house and the guardhouse are supplied with quality water from a borehole. EXPLOITATION REGIME: EL ZUMAJO: A HUNTING RESERVE Private hunting reserve: Surface area: 2,715 hectares, completely fenced with 2 m high hunting netting. In El Zumajo, 9 annual hunts or 14 hunting parties can be carried out; selective hunting is carried out throughout the year in stalking and waiting. La Rana del Quejigal: There is a public road. Two private hunting reserves have been created that use the road as a division between them. CORK PRODUCTION In El Zumajo, cork production in 2017, 2018 and 2019 and in La Rana in 2023 totaled 16,800 quintals. The high quality of this cork has allowed it to be paid at the highest prices on the market. DEHESA The dehesa of El Zumajo and La Rana is made up of holm oak and cork oak forests, the latter being the most productive. The coppices and waterways are accompanied by gall oak and oak trees. This area is cleared of rockrose and scrubland. AGRICULTURAL USE OLIVE GROVE In La Rana del Quejigal, there is a 110-hectare irrigated olive grove with approximately 18,000 olive trees and adequately fenced. There are also three rainfed olive groves, with a total of approximately 3,700 olive trees, in production and fenced. The El Zumajo olive grove has approximately 8,000 olive trees, in production and fenced, with an area of 60 hectares. There are multiple varieties of olives: cornezuelo, manzanilla, hojiblanca, cornicabra, and picual. Farmland Approximately 300 hectares are dedicated to the planting of wheat, barley, and oats in alternate years. PAC There are several rights for the land and for livestock. BUILDINGS AND INFRASTRUCTURES EL ZUMAJO Within the estate, there are the following buildings: Main house: 900 m2 It has a living room, 2 dining rooms, a TV room, 7 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, an industrial kitchen, a gun cabinet, a breakfast room, an administration office, and a swimming pool with its corresponding changing room. Rooms in the hunters' courtyard: 295 m2 The hunters' rooms are accessed from the courtyard. There are 8 double rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms and air conditioning. Rooms in the attic: 172 m2 This area has 4 double rooms and 5 single rooms, with heating and air conditioning. Guard houses: 350 m2 There are 4 guard houses with a living room, bathroom, kitchen, and 2 or 3 bedrooms, with heating. Technical Director's House: 177m2 Living room, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and 4 bedrooms with heating. Chapel: 48m2 Facilities: 156m2 WAREHOUSES Several livestock sheds for animal feed, old sheepfolds with approximately 4,850m2 built area. 4 horse boxes. 25m² cold storage room. LA RANA DEL QUEJIGAL Main House: 542m2 It has a living room, kitchen, 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a swimming pool, and a hunter's lounge. Guard Houses: 194m2 There are 2 homes with a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and 3 bedrooms. WAREHOUSES Several livestock sheds, approximately 3,080m2 There is a 'Clean Point' for the treatment of olive harvesting. ENERGY Electricity is supplied via a 21,000-volt line and reaches a 160-kW transformer, from where it is supplied at 380 V and 220 V. There are diesel tanks for agricultural use (3,000 l), automotive use (3,000 l), and heating (2,000 l).
