Description
Castellina in Chianti (SI): 132-hectare organic winery with medieval hamlet dating back to 1000 AD consisting of:
- 32 hectares of vineyards including 18 hectares of Chianti Classico DOCG vineyard and 14 hectares of IGT vineyard.
The main grape varieties are: Sangiovese, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot with plantings of various vintages, placed on neat rows with excellent production;
- 4 hectares of olive grove in production of Frantoio, Moraiolo, Leccino and Pendolino qualities;
- 45 hectares of hillside arable land, suitable for any crop and vineyard replanting;
- 45 hectares of coppice forest;
- 7 hectares of pasture and tares.
- Stone farmhouse used as a manor house of about 1050 sqm on two levels with several lounges, study, two bathrooms and four bedrooms on the ground floor; large rustic kitchen, living room with fireplace, four bedrooms and two bathrooms on the first floor.
- Farmhouse used as agritourism of 240 sq.m. renovated and furnished in Tuscan style consisting of studio with bathroom and storage on the ground floor, living room, kitchen, three bedrooms and two bathrooms on the first floor.
- House used as janitor's quarters and offices of about 240 sq. m.
- Offices, warehouses and logistic rooms consisting of wine making, wine refining and aging rooms, storage rooms with all facilities.
- Underground cellar of 2070 sqm with wine-making and aging rooms made of reinforced concrete with typical cross vaults.
- Machinery shed of 340 sqm and animal shelter of about 100 sqm.
The farm is certified Organic since 2012 and is part of the Chianti Classico Gallo Nero Wine Consortium, producing Chianti Classico wines, IGT Wines, Vin Santo del Chianti Classico, Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Grappa del Chianti Classico appreciated all over the world with 85% of the production destined for export.
