The Grado Lagoon is a maze of canals and valleys nestled between the mote, the lagoon's islets. The traditional fishermen's huts, the casoni, have been partially restored and converted into accommodations. Don't miss a boat trip among the lagoon's casoni, a place of the soul, as Pasolini described it. He chose the casone of Mota Safon as his buen retiro and where he filmed some scenes from the film Medea, starring Maria Callas in her only film experience. Today, Pasolini's casone is an internationally renowned museum.
