Description
This historic windmill estate, dating back to 1890, was once the home of José, a local miller who built it by hand using traditional rammed earth. Today, it has been thoughtfully restored under the guidance of architect Henrique Schreck, one of Portugal’s foremost specialists in earth construction.
The main house features three bedrooms, a study, two bathrooms, a living room, and a fully equipped kitchen that opens onto an outdoor dining area with a traditional firewood oven and barbecue. Its distinctive rooflines reflect the character of the original structures.
Next to the windmill, a former grain store has been converted into a charming self-contained guest suite. The windmill itself remains untouched, preserved in its original condition.
Surrounded by nature, peace, and history—and just minutes from the wild beaches of the Costa Vicentina—this is a rare retreat for those who value craftsmanship, landscape, and quiet beauty.
