Description
We are in Gromo, the Small Toledo of the Middle Ages and now one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, awarded the Orange Flag by the Italian Touring Club, nestled in the Orobic Prealps and easily accessible from Bergamo airport, which is about an hour's drive away.
In this charming village, characteristic stone houses and cobblestone streets meet around the Ginami Castle perched on the rocky promontory next to the Serio river.
The views are spectacular: snow-capped peaks, lush forests, flowering meadows, grazing animals.
And it is right here that magic happens; when history meets the present, a splendid jewel is born, a luxury house ready to live in, unique in its kind, completely independent and with a magnificent view of the medieval village!
This enchanting solution is the result of a careful and meticulous renovation of a typical and ancient rural house, which has perfectly enhanced every single room, highlighting its character in every detail.
Living in the mountains has never been so beautiful! This solution is ideal for having your own privacy and enjoying the ample space available and the advantageous conveniences for both you and your guests, within a refined context and at the same time in contact with nature.
But now let's discover this jewel in its entirety!
On the ground floor we find automated electric driveway and pedestrian entrances leading to the private courtyard, the tavern, and the entrance hall. The courtyard is embellished by a stone fountain and is equipped with a wall-box for car charging. From the courtyard, you can admire the house's façade characterized by stone arches and wooden beams; under the arch, there is a porch that houses both the main entrance embellished by a brick wall and a glass and wood master door, and the access to the tavern.
The enchanting tavern is characterized by wonderful stone vaults and furnished with cutting-edge furniture, worthy of the best magazines, like the rest of the house. The tavern overlooks the courtyard, allowing for outdoor dining with a view of the village. Connected to the tavern, there is a stone hallway leading to the wine cellar.
From the elegant main entrance, we can access both an independent suite with a private bathroom and a generous laundry room connected to the technical room. In the center of the hallway, a modern wooden and glass staircase leads to the upper floors.
The house is equipped with solar panels, a video surveillance system, a home automation system for managing lights, heating, and cooling. The heating and cooling are underfloor, with methane boilers supported by heat pumps.
But now let's go up to the first floor!
A double-height living room with exposed beams opens up to the fabulous living area enhanced by a gas thermo-fireplace, ideal for spending relaxing and convivial moments with family and guests. The kitchen is open and well integrated into the living area furniture, characterized by a large retractable pantry. The living room overlooks the private patio ideal for sunbathing and dining while admiring the valley. The property is completed by a non-flat land of about 7,300 square meters, with the possibility of creating parking spaces. Also on the first floor, there is a guest bathroom, two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, both overlooking the terrace with a beautiful view of the village.
From the living area, you can go up to the attic characterized by exposed beams where we find:
- a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom
- another room that currently accommodates three beds with an en-suite bathroom
- storage area in the attic.
In total, the house offers 5 suites and 6 bathrooms!
Nestled in the Orobic Prealps, Gromo offers various services such as a pharmacy, post office, stationery store, library, museums, bakeries, bars, pastry shops, ice cream parlors, restaurants, pizzerias, greengrocers, hairdressers, various shops, and a sports fishing pond.
The village is crossed by the Serio river and the cycle and pedestrian path that connects the Upper Seriana Valley.
The house represents an ideal solution to discover and experience the beauties of the Upper Valley, cultural attractions, religious and popular traditions, as well as various sports and recreational activities.
The Orobie Trail will allow you to reach some peaks of the Bergamo Prealps: Redorta, Grabiasca, Brunone, and Cardeto. You can also reach numerous alpine lakes and shelters: Lakes of Cardeto, Passo della Portula, Curò and Coca (from Valbondione), Brunone (from Fiumenero), Calvi (from Ripa di Gromo), Alpe Corte and Laghi Gemelli (from Valcanale); from the latter, the Orobie shelters trail begins, which ends at Albani.
