Description
RESPIRO involves the construction of six independent villas with private gardens, arranged in pairs. The villas' volumes are positioned orthogonally; at their intersection, the bathrooms and garages act as a filter between the two spaces. A canopy embraces the volumes, cutting them like a blade, separating the day area on the ground floor from the night area on the upper level. The interior spaces are characterized by a consistent materiality that envelops the open-plan living area. The timeless elegance of natural materials and modern surfaces allows for light to filter through the large windows, creating a continuum between interior and exterior space. A central cone of light acts as a hinge between the living area, contrasting with the luminous horizontal volume of the greenhouse. The balanced use of natural light infuses the interior with a sense of spaciousness, creating a continuous flow of spaces where colors and materials alternate heterogeneously. The sleeping area is located on the upper level, clearly separated by function. The center of gravity of the sleeping area is the double-height volume of the staircase, which describes the passage to the private space of the home in a zenithal way.
