Description
This villa is fully integrated into unspoiled nature, on the outskirts of a village in the Alentejo countryside. It is exceptional due to the combination of regional architectural features and its rustic style on the one hand, with optimized comfort equipment on the other.
Quinta da Soneca is a genuine hide away in harmony with nature, where comfort has been optimized. Located on the proximity of a village, the villa is completely surrounded by untouched nature. Access is via a gravels path, which winds through olive trees in an undulating landscape. The property has been operating as a tourist accommodation since 2019, when it has been renovated.
The property's plot of 1.25 hectares is planted with 200 olive trees and numerous fruit trees (walnut trees, orange trees, lemon trees, persimmon trees, avocado trees, etc...). This land extends on a gentle slope and is completely surrounded by an old perimeter wall secured by a metallic fence. There is a visitor car park just right after the entrance gate. From there, the path to the villa is about 300 meters.
The house, decorated with traditional paintings, has an area of approximately 400 m2: on the left are the 6 suites; in the centre, the social areas; on the right, the swimming pool; and on the first floor, a studio for private use. Upon entering the house, we find a hall with a social bathroom. On the right, two wooden double doors with small glass panes lead to the dining room and to a large living room with a wood burning stove. These two rooms are also connected by double wooden doors with small glass panes. The rustic style of the decoration is enhanced by arches in the ceiling and a floor uniformly made of large, old-fashioned stones. The wooden ceiling structure painted in white and the generous spaces are enlarged by the height of the walls. Natural light comes in through the French windows that lead to the porch and the large swimming pool overlooking the fields and the sunset. The pool, measuring 11m by 4.5m, has a heating system and an electrolysis cleaning system.
Passing through the entrance hall again, we go through the hallway that leads to the 6 suites, each with its own bathroom with shower and private terrace. The main suite is over 35 m2 and includes a small living room. The floors are made of handcrafted tiles from the region and the ceiling woods are exposed.
From the dining room, we go up a few steps to access a laundry room, a pantry and a large modern kitchen. We also find there a door to the back of the house, which gives access to the stairs that lead to the terrace where the studio of about 60m2 is located. The studio includes a bedroom, a bathroom with shower, a kitchenette and a small living room in a common area.
The villa is very well thermally and acoustically insulated. All rooms have reversible air conditioning, all windows have double solar glazing and the bedroom walls are covered with cork. The property is self-sufficient in water, thanks to its borehole, which supplies a 10,000 litres tank (for the house and for automated drop-by-drop irrigation) and a 500 litres heat pump of sanitary water (heated by 3 solar panels on the roof); as well as electricity, thanks to its 30 photovoltaic solar panels on the ground. It is also connected to the electrical city network by an underground cable. The water is filtered for consumption purposes. The property is connected to the internet by fibre optic cable, also for communications and television, and is totally covered by a WIFI network.
There is also a kennel and a storage area about 100m to the right of the house; as well as a private car park, a small vegetable garden and a technical house on the left.
This property stands out for its Alentejanese style, the quality of its materials and the modernity of its equipment, which turns it into a Biosphere classified property. It is completely isolated in the middle of the fields, although just 1 km away from a village where you will find all the necessary shops and amenities and where you will definitely receive a warm welcome from the local people. The region is very popular among tourists and there is a huge demand for accommodation. It is located north of the Alqueva dam with its fluvial beaches, two hours drive from Lisbon and half an hour from the Spanish border.
