The nineteenth-century farmhouse with baglio stands on the banks of the river Anapo adjacent to the nature reserve of Ciane close to the mouth of the two rivers and overlooks the natural harbor of Syracuse just 2 kilometers from Ortigia, the city's historic center. The recent restoration (2005) has kept the charm of the ancient Sicilian farmhouse of the late '800 combined with a contemporary style, attentive to comfort and design.
The property for sale, currently intended for hotels, consists of different buildings and and surrounded by a large Mediterranean garden covering over 15,000 square meters. The oldest building on two levels was designed to house the rooms. The rooms are 10 doubles, each decorated differently, all enjoy a sense of privacy and tranquility some overlooking the river Anapo, others with a panoramic view of the port of Syracuse and Ortigia in the background.
The building behind, closer to the river, houses the bar and the restaurant and the smaller buildings identify one the reception with reading room and the other the local warehouse and bathrooms and showers service to the pool.
The architectural project of restoration of buildings occurred through the use of solutions intended to maintain the constructive characteristics of the buildings, so it was decided to keep the original walls as much as possible. The Mediterranean garden is structured according to the surrounding river area near the Anapo. The choice was to maintain the spontaneous vegetation made of Sicilian reeds and wild herbs on the side towards the river and in the border area with the other properties.
The swimming pool has been realized above ground with white and wood mosaic cladding iroko in the solarium area. The design choice of the above ground pool was made to resume the type of "gebbie", typical cisterns used in Sicily for the collection of water useful for the irrigation of land. A wide lawn and driveway areas made of white gravel, combine the different routes. The ancient bagli have been transformed into large porches paved in Iroko wood.
Emitted the expansion of existing surfaces through the construction of buildings with tourist destinations . By purchasing the adjacent land covering 4.1 hectares it will be possible to build another 20 rooms and the wellness area with a new covered area of ??over 1000 square meters.
