The Villa is just 20 minutes from Costa Careyes and has the same luxurious feel, but without all the people. You have true privacy. The Villa is located off Highway 200 about 10 kilometers. There is a 24-hour security guard station on the entrance road, so only those authorized will be admitted. There is about one mile of luxurious sand beach below the house that is almost always completely free of other people. The Master Suite occupies the entire upper level of the main house and it includes a large bedroom with floor to ceiling windows, sitting area or office, and his and hers bathrooms and closets. There are stunning ocean views from the entire house. Outside you have beautiful patios, a large pool area with outside bar, a fountain, and tennis court. A wide cascading staircase take you down to the two Guest Bungalows which each feature two double beds, full bathrooms, large patios, and amazing ocean views. There are staff onsite to help manage the property and take care of your every need. Stunning ocean views from every room and deck make this Villa even more spectacular.
Nearby is the Careyes Polo Club, which has been the host for International Federation of Polo (FIP) playoffs with teams from USA, Canada, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic, two Ambassadors Cups, Bodegueros Cup and La Herradura clinics with the famous Gracida brothers. Careyes has also been the home of major Hugh Dawnay known for his clinics and several books written on polo. Players from USA, Germany, Italy, Spain, England, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico are our normal guests. Many of the players are Costa Careyes home owners. Since the year 2000, with the famous Agua Alta tournament, Costa Careyes Polo Club became a truly international club.
Also nearby is the famous abandoned luxury hotel that was given to General Garcia Barragan, Mexico`s Secretary of Defense by Mexican ex-President Gustavo Diaz Ordaz for his service to the country in the 50`s. The general built the hotel, swimming pool, tennis court and even a private landing strip but died before he could complete the plans. The hotel was leased out by family for several years but fell into disrepair and has since been looted, raided and stripped of anything of value. In 1998 Hotel El Tecuan was the location for the filming of the movie `I Still Know What You Did Last Summer`.
