HISTORY OF THE PLACE RANKA DAMBIS 34 – AN ADDRESS WITH ITS OWN HISTORY, ITS OWN PHILOSOPHY. The history of the land on which the Philosophers' Residence will be built is imbued with the spirit of philosophy. German philosophers who were part of Goethe's group of like-minded people called "Storm and Stress" lived on this land: J.G. Hamann (from 1753 to 1759) and J.G. Herder (from 1764 to 1769). They set the goal of their lives as serving philosophical thought. So that contemporaries remember history and do not forget the people who lived and worked in Latvia, we named the towers HERDER and HAMANN, and the project – PHILOSOPHERS' RESIDENCE. ARCHITECTURE OF THE QUARTER The architecture of the building continues the general idea of the quarter, visually the buildings resemble a stack of books stacked on top of each other, where each floor is a new book, new content with its own philosophy of approach to life. Terraces and balconies of each apartment of different sizes and orientations help the architect solve the complex task of visualizing this image and create opportunities for meditative rest for residents. The color scheme of the architectural concept is based on the negative of a black-and-white photograph of a stack of books. HALL INTERIORS In the 12-meter hall of the house, behind the pages of an open book, there will be a library with collected works of philosophers who inspired the creation of the Philosophers' Residence project, as well as with the works of other thinkers. From the hall, through panoramic glass walls, views open onto the Alley of Philosophers, an artfully landscaped and illuminated bank of the Ancient Daugava overgrown with centuries-old oaks and maples. APARTMENTS Opening the front door to the apartment, you find yourself in a warm, cozy atmosphere of the interior, and your eyes are presented with a breathtaking grand view from the window. The ceiling height in the apartments inspires you to breathe freely: up to the 14th floor - 2.91 meters, above the 14th - 3.11 meters, in the penthouses - 3.20 meters for special freedom-lovers. We paid special attention to the functionality of the apartment layouts, each has a separate bedroom and space for closets or dressing rooms, spacious balconies and terraces where you can place a table and chairs. All apartments are rented out fully finished, you can choose a suitable style from 2 options. QUALITY AND TECHNOLOGY The Philosophers' Residence project is located on a landscaped area of 4,200 square meters. In total, the Project has 115 apartments. The project is two residential apartment buildings (22 and 23 floors), connected by an underground parking lot. When designing the Residence of Philosophers, parameters were laid down that exceed those defined by the building regulations of the European Union and meet increased requirements for reliability and comfort, which allows the project to be classified as a Premium class project. According to the design solutions, the load-bearing capacity of the buildings has been significantly improved and the rigidity has been increased, as a result, in the event of the destruction of even 25% of the load-bearing structures, the building will continue to stand. Also, the owners of apartments on the upper floors will not feel discomfort with increased wind loads.
