It is in the riverside area that you can taste the roasted sardines, followed by a promenade next to the Marina. Just six kilometres from Portimao, is the fishing village of Alvor where it retains its charm in the streets of white houses and in the colorful of the boats. At the highest point there are some stretches of the castle walls, but the highlight goes to the Mother Church with a 16th century portico carefully worked and the panorama that can be seen from the churchhouse over the sea and the Ria, has a special charm at dawn, when absolute tranquility falls. But to get a complete idea of the Portimao area, we have to appreciate it from all perspectives. For example, on a boat ride along the coast to get to know beaches inaccessible by land and admire the rock formations.
