Atlanta

luxury guide

Atlanta is the capital and largest city of the state of Georgia with a 2012 population of 443,775. With a GDP of US$270 billion, Atlanta's economy ranks 15th among international cities and sixth in the nation. Corporate operations comprise a large portion of the city’s economy: Atlanta contains one of the country’s largest concentration of Fortune 500 companies, and is home to the global headquarters of corporations such as The Coca-Cola Company. Atlanta is sometimes called a “City in a Forest” due to the dense tree cover which gives it a unique, charming atmosphere that is rare for a city of its size. Its impeccable suburbs feature affluent gated communities and exclusive country clubs. Communities such as Chastain, Tuxedo Park and Garden Hills offer beautiful mansions and luxury estates, while in Inman Park and Ansley Park one can purchase elegant and prestigious historic homes. Midtown, Buckhead and Downtown are three major districts featuring some of the tallest buildings in the U.S. after New York and Chicago, in which prestigious high rise condos and luxury mansions can be found. These districts offer boutiques and art galleries in addition to many cultural attractions including art institutions, museums and the world’s largest indoor aquarium. The Old Fourth Ward boasts Martin Luther King's childhood home among other cultural attractions, as well as excellent restaurants. Art and music lovers will be delighted by Atlanta’s exceptional opera house, orchestral, ballet and Broadway productions and museums such as the High Museum of Art. Its cosmopolitan shopping, chic nightlife and subtropical climate make Atlanta an attractive place indeed to purchase a high end property.
