Meg Ryan has been contemplating purchasing a property in the big apple for quite some time now, however her former partner John Mellencamp was reluctant, content with life in Indiana. Now that their love story has come to an end, it was only inevitable that the “When Harry Met Sally” Star would make a move to New York City.
The girl-next-door actress paid a total of 8 million dollars for the luxury loft located in the prestigious neighborhood SoHo. Not a bad deal considering the location, finish, and the size, measuring over 370 square meters with three bedrooms and three bathrooms.
The luxury New York home was previously owned by Hank Azaria, winner of four Emmy awards and dubbing actor for Boe Szyslak in the Simpsons. The actor purchased the property in 2005 for 4,625 dollars from artist Cindy Sherman, where he lived with his wife Kate Wright before moving to the Upper East Side.
The luxury apartment is found in a noted building, which housed the Nicholas Hotel in 1853. A detail that no doubt has had an impact on the price of the property, along with its many other selling points.
The lavish loft boasts an independent entrance by means of a lift which directs you to an exclusive vestibule which leads you along a lengthy and bright corridor, dotted with numerous windows looking out onto the street. The ample living room acts as the center and focal point of the residence, occupying 700 square meters of space. The dining room is characterized by original wooden flooring, eye-catching steel finished pillars, and striking French doors.
By means of the living room, you are transported to the “U” shaped kitchen with white cabinets, which are contrasted against the rustic worktop and black slate flooring. The living room is also connected to the master bedroom with an ensuite-bathroom. There are another two luxury bedrooms within the luxurious home, and two bathrooms, an office, and a well-equipped multi-media room. Of course the luxury home wouldn’t be complete without a private gym, fitted with the best of the best.
